Blue Visby Bridge

Financial Decision Support Tool

The financial consequences of every feasible anchorage arrival time across the arrival window, by reference to all relevant parameters.

Blue Visby Bridge models the financial outcome of different options as to anchorage arrival time, considering the parameters and constraints applying to the vessel, the terminal and the contract.

Blue Visby Bridge BVRTA Analysis view: the net financial result of every feasible anchorage arrival time against a user-set benchmark, with the recommended arrival marked and a breakdown into bunker fuel saved, demurrage or despatch and avoided cost of waiting

Speed and consumption, emissions, laytime and demurrage outcomes are calculated specific to the voyage, to give the Operator a methodical way to visualise the outcome of various options. The assessment is made dynamically, as conditions change during the voyage.

Blue Visby Bridge uses algorithms that were developed for the purposes of the Blue Visby Voyage, where Operators and Charterers agree to adopt a mutually beneficial arrival time, as set by Blue Visby, and share the value of the resulting fuel savings.

But Blue Visby Bridge can be used by individual companies that wish to optimise the anchorage arrival time by reference to their own individual financial interest. If the user chooses to agree with their contractual counterparty to do a Blue Visby Voyage the transition is seamless.

Blue Visby Bridge is simply a decision-support tool, designed to be used by any party with operational control of the vessel, that provides visibility of the key parameters and prices the consequences of arrival time.

Key features

A decision support tool that prices the alternate financial outcomes of different arrival times at the anchorage, taking into account:

  • laytime, demurrage and despatch
  • the vessel’s fuel consumption curve, corrected by reference to actual performance, and adjusted for the weather conditions
  • the cost of waiting at the anchorage, or other port related expenses
  • the step changes in cost around tender of Notice of Readiness
  • forecast of anchorage waiting times

The tool is dynamic and can be used at the planning stage or during the voyage, taking into account the changing conditions. It can be integrated with the user’s voyage management software and is web-based, requiring no IT resource. Advanced security features include organisation-level user administration and a support-access switch that the user’s organisation grants and revokes.

Blue Visby Bridge, the financial decision support tool, can be combined with BV360, the operational decision support tool. For a free trial, contact sales@bluevisby.com.
